One of my favorite things about being in college is the fact that I can spend time with friends outside, on the weekends, as if homework is a figment of our imagination. A few weeks ago I did just that. A small group of us went out and camped out in a free, first-come-first-serve campsite. Free. Can’t get any better than that right? Especially for us poor adventure-thirsty college kids. There was a slight chance of rain for that weekend, but nothing a tent and tarps couldn’t fight. With laughter and campfire, a new adventure was lived.

Sadly, we left a day earlier because the rain wouldn’t stop. My boyfriend and I ended up cooking the rest of our camp food in our university student park. That in itself was a humorous memory I’m glad we made. Just two people with a headlamp, hovered over a picnic table, making a meal on a camping stove in a perfectly civilized campus. The best adventures are truly not dependent on where you go, but who you’re with.
As the Winter season Springs forward, I’m getting more and more excited on the wonderful memories I’ll make.
