Day 2, 3 of 5 | Sicko

As life normally turns out, I got the flu and have not been able to keep up with sharing my reflections like I had planned. I WOULD like to take advantage of my experience being a sicko instead!

I had the privilege of being under the care of my sister and brother-in-law. These two believe in the healing powers of plants and herbs that God gave us. They are one of the big influences to why I believe so much in plant based healing. Anyhow, I was quite the spoiled sicko.

My schedule for the entire bedridden night was to sleep, wake up, take capsules, use essential oils, get iced, then back to sleep. This cycle went on for what felt like three days. No joke. I had countless dreams (all very bizarre) and would sometimes wake up to my moaning from aches and pains.

At some point during the night, my sister helped me get a nice hot bath. HOT it was. I had never gotten in water that hot, but I knew I needed it. Throughout the night I was given, peppermint and lavender oils, Zinc, Goldenseal, Charcoal, Lozenge, Honey, Kale and Apple Juice, Garlic, Echinacea, Throat Assist, and ice. Mind you, I had no idea I was taking this much stuff until today when I was more “with it”.

Like I said earlier, I felt like I had been sick for three days. It wasn’t until this afternoon that I realized I had taken a whole “farmacy”! I’ve never heard of anyone getting better from a flu within a day! It was really just over less than TWENTY-FOUR hours! Nature’s best is powerful stuff! I just thought I would take advantage of this wonderful reflection out of my sickness. I believe in the power of God’s creation and nature itself. Be it fresh air, charcoal, echinacea, etc. Remember back in the old OLD FORGOTTEN times? They didn’t have pills, they had but the world and its resources! Today’s medications are just copies of what nature used to provide for our ancestors!

I’m pleased to be back in the world and able to get back to hearing the meetings. I hope to continue my original goal to share my reflections about this experience at GYC.
